EARLY LIFE AND EDUCATION

Tom Oliver is the child of Margate and Erhart Kirfel.1 He was born in Freiburg in Breisgau, Germany. Tom Oliver grew up in Germany and the United States. He attended high school at Albertus-Magnus-Gymnasium in Bergisch Gladbach, Germany,  and the Friedrich-Wilhelm-Gymnasium  in Cologne, Germany. Other famous alumni from the latter include the self-made internet billionaire entrepreneurs, brothers Alexander Samwer,2 Oliver Samwer, and Marc Samwer.3 4 When Oliver was 16, he received a full scholarship from the international organization ASSIST5 ASSIST sends talented and academically proficient students from around the world to the leading private schools in the United States on full or partial scholarship. Tom Oliver was awarded a full scholarship to attend the world-renowned US boarding school Choate Rosemary Hall in Wallingford, Connecticut, USA, for one year. The school is well known for educating many leading American politicians and members of New England’s upper-class establishment. Choate Rosemary Hall is also a member of the Eight Schools Association which represents the leading private preparatory schools in the United States. Choate Rosemary Hall alumni include Oscar-winning actor Michael Douglas, philanthropist Paul Mellon, and the 35th President of the United States, John F. KennedyList of Choate Rosemary Hall alumni. While Tom attended Choate Rosemary Hall, he displayed outstanding proficiency and became the first foreign scholarship student in the history of the school to skip a grade and graduate early. He graduated with honours in English and Mathematics.  After receiving his US and German high school diplomas, Tom went on to study economics and business administration at the University of Cologne in Germany. In the United States, Oliver was granted early acceptance at the famous Wharton School of Business of the University of Pennsylvania, Philadelphia, USA, which regularly ranks among the top business schools in the world. Other famous alumni from Wharton School of Business include the 45th President of the United States Donald Trump, CEO of Alphabet and Google Sundar Pichai, billionaire investor Warren Buffett, and billionaire technology entrepreneur Elon Musk.
